  2. here is some info on the kenwood model
  3. tr-2600a handie - talkie....
  4.  
  5. if you want to be able to transmit on 
  6. the extended freq area 
  7. then do the following mod....
  8.  1. remove the front cover of the radio
  9.  
  10. 2. locate the ic chip in the lower
  11.    right hand corner.
  12.  
  13. 3. find the 2 diodes number d32 and d33
  14.    (they should be the top two on the
  15.    right side of the ic chip, also 
  16.    they have ben cut beforenand 
  17.   (re-soldered)
  18.  
  19. 4. un-solder the two diodes (breaking
  20.    their connection).
  21.  
  22. a5. replace the front ctver.
  23.  
  24. 6. re-install the battery and turn the
  25.    unit on, then push the reset button
  26.    on the back.

  28.  
  29. the tr-2600a should now be reprogramed
  30. and it should also transmit anywhere it
  31. will recieve...
  32.  
  33. i forgot to add that d32 and d33 on the
  34. recieve board (but that is what is 
  35. under the front cover).

  37. this is the mod as per kenwood....
